About Monte Weiss

Monte E. Weiss is the founder of Weiss Law Office, S.C. The bulk of his practice involves the defense of personal injury, property damage and products liability cases for insurance companies and self-insured companies. He routinely represents insurance carriers on insurance contract interpretation issues, claims of bad faith and other complex insurance coverage matters. He has drafted several personal lines insurance policies, including homeowner and automobile policies. His work also involves the defense of real estate agents. In addition, Mr. Weiss represents policyholders who have coverage disputes with their own insurers. Mr. Weiss has argued before the Wisconsin Court of Appeals as well as the Wisconsin Supreme Court and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals – Seventh Circuit, U.S. District Court – Eastern District of Wisconsin and the U.S. District Court – Western District of Wisconsin. Mr. Weiss was graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1991. Recently, Mr. Weiss was appointed as the Program Chair for the Wisconsin Defense Counsel. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Weiss formed the Insurance Law Committee for the Wisconsin Defense Counsel and served as its chair. The purpose of the Insurance Law Committee was to provide educational support to the judiciary and to the bar on how to analyze insurance policy coverage issues. Mr. Weiss also served as the chair for the Wisconsin Defense Counsel’s Amicus Committee. Mr. Weiss is the author of a number of articles related to insurance coverage issues, general defense practice issues and trial issues. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute – Insurance Law Committee member.
