Monte Swain

About Monte Swain

Monte Swain is recently retired as the Deloitte Professor in the School of Accountancy at Brigham Young University. He has researched and taught management accounting at BYU since graduating from Michigan State University in 1991. He is published in scholarly and practitioner journals, authors textbooks in management accounting, and consults on the effective use of strategic measurement systems. Through his career, Monte has been the recipient of a number of teaching awards, including the Brummet Distinguished Award for Management Accounting Educators from the Institute of Management Accountants (2016) and the MBA Core Professor of the Year at BYU (2021). He has served in leadership roles for the American Accounting Association, and in advisory roles for the IMA, AICPA, and CIMA. Monte is currently the lead author for UWorld\'s Certified Management Accounting (CMA) Learning System.
