   Responsible for the day to day operations of 180+ SQL servers with databases, running SQL 2012 through 2020. Other responsibilities: Configuring WSFC with AlwaysOn Availability Groups, listeners, failover groups and mirrored databases. Upgrading SQL servers to latest versions of SQL. Mentoring and collaborating with other SQL DBA’s. Configure, implement, and maintain mission critical servers and systems that support high availability and disaster recovery. Designed and maintained DR and backup systems. Installed, patched and upgraded clustered and standalone SQL Server, Reporting Services, and Log shipping DR servers. Assured that data integrity is maintained and servers are capable of meeting business requirements. Other duties: Assisting application developers optimize SQL code; Fix performance issues, supporting large CRM and SharePoint installation; Consulting with outside vendors on optimum installation strategies; Reviewing system and application logs to determine root cause of outages. Provide 24/7 support for server issues. Achievements: • Configured log shipping so that the delay between servers was reduced from 2 hours to under 10 minutes. • Created management system to easily manage logins, assign permissions, collect system metrics, report on system health, collect growth statistics, and maintain security. • Created backup solution using Ola Hallengren scripts to backup AG databases as well as regular databases. • Sole support of over 180 SQL instances and databases with minimal assistance.
