ABOUT MONOJIT MANDAL
I am an undergraduate at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal, with focused academic interests in Organic Chemistry and Earth & Environmental Sciences (EES). In chemistry, I explore transition metal-catalyzed reactions of diazo compounds, with an emphasis on reaction mechanisms, reactivity patterns, and their potential in synthetic applications. In EES, my work investigates mantle superplumes, Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs), and their role in mass extinction events, integrating geochemical proxies with stratigraphic frameworks. As an IISERite, I value a research-driven approach, combining fundamental science with real-world relevance. I am actively seeking research opportunities, internships, and academic collaborations that align with these interdisciplinary goals. Research Interests: • Organic Synthesis & Catalysis • Diazo Chemistry & Transition Metal Complexes • Environmental & Atmospheric Chemistry • Geochemistry & Climate Processes • Sustainable & Green Chemistry
