ABOUT MONISH BANGALORE VIJAY KUMAR
I’m a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a degree in Data Science and Economics, where I focused on applying machine learning, statistical modeling, and data engineering to understand financial systems and consumer decision-making.My academic and project experiences span a range of technical domains—from building time-series anomaly detection models and deploying GenAI tools, to designing full-stack data pipelines with tools like Airbyte, Snowflake, Spark, and MongoDB. I’ve also worked with cloud platforms like AWS and GCP, and developed production-ready prototypes using Streamlit and Docker. What sets me apart is my cross-domain perspective. By combining data science techniques with economic insight, I focus on not just how data behaves—but why. Whether analyzing financial transactions, credit risk patterns, or market behavior, I bring both the technical skills to build models and the economic reasoning to interpret them meaningfully.Through internships at CoStrategix, leadership roles in AI@UW, and my work as a peer coach in data science and data management courses, I’ve developed a strong foundation in collaborating across disciplines, solving complex problems, and translating data into actionable insights.I’m excited to contribute to innovative teams—especially in fintech, analytics, and mission-driven environments—where data is used to expand access, improve transparency, and drive smarter decisions.
