ABOUT MONIKA DUDEK
When I joined TT in 2002 as a patent agent, TT’s goal was to build the most valuable portfolio of electronic trading patents in the world. While attending the evening program at DePaul College of Law, my early work at TT focused on invention mining as well as preparation and prosecution of patent applications worldwide. Since 2002, TT’s patent portfolio has grown from 10 patent applications to over 900 patents worldwide. In 2013, TT’s patent portfolio was ranked the 3rd largest portfolio in Class 705, following IBM and SAP. Additionally, in 2013, 1790 Analytics, a third-party analytics company, recognized TT, along with IBM and JP Morgan, as the owners of the top patent portfolios in terms of quality and quantity in the financial and investment spaces. In 2014, TT’s portfolio was ranked the 4th largest patent portfolio in USPTO’s Class 705. In my current role as VP Intellectual Property, I strategically manage patent litigation, oversee in-house prosecution of patent applications by TT’s in-house patent prosecution team, and manage TT’s trademark portfolio. I have been actively involved in covered business method (CBM) review proceedings as well as corresponding appeals to the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. I have significant experience with re-exam proceedings and have argued a number of re-exam appeals.
