About Monica Prabhu
My work bridges disparate sectors (private, public and civil society) to speed up deployment of methane mitigation, the fastest way to slow the rate of climate change.Prior to my current role as founder of the Methane Mitigation Council (MMC) I ran operations and communications at a methane mitigation technology company addressing hard-to-abate methane emissions with cross-sector applications in oil and gas, mining and landfills.My previous career was in strategic communications for innovative technology brands. I\'ve worked with 75+ venture-backed B2B technology companies from pre-launch to post-IPO, across tech sectors (software, hardware, advanced materials and manufacturing) in both agency, independent contracting and fractional leadership roles.In a former life I was an aspiring chemical engineer, a public high school teacher and an editor of a non-fiction literary magazine. I am a diehard fan of journalism, dystopian fiction and believe in a well-balanced media diet with plenty of no-screen time. I support mental health awareness and a strong, free press.
