Architect | Designs Management & Product Strategy In my professional journey of the past 23 years as an Architect, there have been many learnings and many more are yet to come. My last corporate role as Head-Product, a part of the Product Strategy and Risk Management team, required me to work extensively on Product positioning & Customer segmentation while formulating the design briefs. I have delivered approximately 16 million sq ft of residential (26 group housing) and 7 million sq ft of commercial space(14 commercial and retail projects). The key objective of the role was to facilitate conversion of the Management vision into a tangible product while ensuring profitability, timely delivery and marketability. It hence involved close interaction with the Management, Design Consultants and the construction team. The role offered a unique mix of Design sensibilities and Construction management capabilities. My growth into this role was a natural career progression, since I was one of the key members involved in setting up the Product Strategy Department, the first of its kind in the real estate industry in the year 2008. The need for this role was identified as an important representation of the user\'s interests in the design of the product. Deep understanding of the government policies and customer requirements while safeguarding the developer’s return on investments, was an interesting challenge to manoeuvre. I feel that there are three areas of strength and expertise that I have acquired over years. Analytical Skills : My area of work requires a strong ability to articulate & conceptualise to solve both complex and uncomplicated design problems by making decisions that are simple yet aligned to the promoter’s vision along with the clients requirements. I feel I am able to do justice to this aspect. Strategic Thinking: We as a team, in our small ways used to conduct periodic surveys and do in-depth research on changing and future lifestyle trends, that would help us give inputs to our Design consultants for design of upcoming projects. From Affordable Homes, to providing common spaces, to designing work-from-home spaces came out of such insights, some of which came to be pivotal in creating our own Brand. Leadership and Team Management: Skilful team and intersection management while dealing with multiple stakeholders like sales and marketing, legal, corporate affairs and projects execution is a strength I pride myself with. These qualities have enabled me to lead several projects successfully in collaboration with consultants.
