Co-developer of the Courageous Heart: The Human Behind the Badge training program in collaboration with Robert Jonsen, Sheriff of Santa Clara County, and Julie Learmond-Criqui, Director of Law Enforcement & Public Safety, Compassion Institute. Launched in 2018 by the Compassion Institute, this groundbreaking program is designed to enhance resilience, compassion, and leadership among law enforcement, public safety personnel, and first responders. The curriculum includes practical tools, mind-body techniques, guided meditation, experiential exercises, and facilitated discussions.A key achievement of the program is its certification by California’s Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST). This rigorous certification process highlights the program\'s quality and effectiveness, allowing participants to earn official POST credits—8 hours for the 1-day course and 24 hours for the 3-day immersion. This makes it an essential resource for professionals seeking to meet continuing education requirements.To date, Courageous Heart has served over 75 agencies and cities across the state, making a significant impact on law enforcement and public safety communities.
