About Monica Casanova

I am the Fairfield Township Trustee in Tippecanoe County. I was elected in 2022. I serve as the Central West Area Director for the Indiana Township Association. I have nearly 15 years of professional experience in the public service sector as a public librarian, in the non-profit sector, and in a community mental health center. I have two Masters\' degrees in Library Science and Public History. I am also pursuing a third Master\'s degree in Social Work at IU Indianapolis. As Case Manager/Skills Trainer I help clients develop coping skills, connect them to community resources, and advocate for themselves. I am bilingual and bicultural. I speak, read, and write in Spanish fluently. I have had leadership positions for organizations such as GLIA and the Latino Center for Wellness and Education As an experienced public servant, I engage in building personal support systems and provide coaching. To do this, I create partnerships with the clients and community. I have experience in identifying obstacles, provide problem solving, and coping skills.
