NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI Massachusetts is the state affiliate focused on improving the quality of life both for people with mental illnesses and for their families.
ABOUT MONICA LUKE
My name is Monica Luke and, after 20+ years of software development, I am redirecting my passion for change to the area of access to mental healthcare. As an advocate for mental health issues, I work on a variety of issues. Check out my website: mhpolicy.org for details on current work. I enjoy tackling hard problems and finding creative solutions by working with subject matter experts to find new ways to move forward. I keep a strong focus on learning from what’s working (or not) to continually tune the tactics to achieve the strategic goal. Because mental healthcare should be available to everyone, not just those who can afford it, I am excited to be dedicating my time to this issue. It is a personal passion and an important issue. I am looking for opportunities to work with like-minded organizations to tackle stigma, application of technology to mental health as well as access to care for the severely mentally ill.
