ABOUT MONICA ULIBARRI
I have 18+ years in higher education and have been a licensed Clinical Psychologistist in California since 2008. I started my career as a postdoctoral fellow and then Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California at San Diego (UCSD), where I also worked closely with colleagues in the Division of Global Public Health. From 2007 to 2015, I was a Clinical Supervisor at the San Diego State University Psychology Clinic. From 2015 to 2025, I was a core faculty member in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Program at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. I am currently conducting immigration evaluations at Shibley Psychology and setting up my own independent practice to see therapy clients. My areas of expertise are health disparities and gender-based violence, such as history of sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, and sexual assault among marginalized populations such as people who inject drugs, drug-involved couples, and women and girls exploited by the sex industry. My \"North Star\" is empowering women and girls and traditionally marginalized and underserved communities through education and wellbeing.
