ABOUT MÓNICA S. MONTESINOS

I am a Program Lead at Morphic Therapeutic, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Company, a biopharmaceutical company developing oral small molecule therapeutics targeting integrins for the treatment of fibrosis and other diseases. With a PhD in Pharmacology and over 16 years of research experience in academia and industry, I have extensive expertise in in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro models for early drug discovery, target validation, and biomarker identification.In my current role, I design and lead research projects for proof of concept and lead optimization phases, focused on the role of integrins in fibrosis and pulmonary arterial hypertension. I also provide scientific and technical support for development candidate phase programs. I work with cross-functional project teams, including Translational Medicine, Chemistry, Screening, DMPK, Preclinical Development, and Biology, to deliver pharmacology data packages for project progression and decision making. I manage external vendors, CROs, and academic collaborations to ensure high-quality data and timely delivery. I am passionate about applying cutting-edge technologies and innovative approaches to discover novel drug targets and therapeutics for unmet medical needs.
