About Monica Nelson
After proudly serving for 12 years as a Healthcare Administrator in the United States Air Force, I’ve transitioned into the civilian sector with a continued commitment to service - this time through clinical research and community health. My military career gave me extensive experience in healthcare operations, team leadership, crisis response, and strategic planning. Skills that I now bring into my role in public health and clinical research.Today, I serve as a Community Engagement Partner at Care Access, a mission driven organization dedicated to revolutionizing access to clinical trials. In this role, I collaborate with community based organizations, nonprofits, and faith based groups across the Las Vegas metropolitan area. I plan and execute meaningful outreach initiatives, health education events, and clinical trial screening opportunities. Additionally, I help build trust and bridge gaps between underrepresented communities and life saving medical research, ensuring that no one is left behind in the future of medicine.I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security & Emergency Management and am a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). These credentials have strengthened my ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, manage large-scale community programs, and deliver results with both structure and compassion.As I continue to grow in this field, my long-term goal is to deepen my impact by leveraging innovative, community-focused strategies to expand equitable access to care. I’m passionate about helping build a healthcare ecosystem where everyone, regardless of zip code, background, or resources - has access to the tools and opportunities they need to live healthier lives. I believe in planting seeds today that will help future generations thrive.
