ABOUT MONICA DIETL

My passions- connecting people, promoting dialogue, conceiving collaborative strategies, favouring fair European, international and industrial (focus on SMEs) cooperation- deciphering the functioning of complex organisations, decrypting structures and business processes, reading board of directors and shareholders’ relationships, building pertinent action plans and achieving goals- creative designing of new schemes, innovative and simple mechanisms, new job profiles- dynamically driving the change to rigorous, but agile lean management methods, create cohesion among teams, empower people. My values- stimulating inspiration, imagination and creativity, promoting team spirit, respect, confidence, and generosity, necessary to advance knowledge. My belief: A Europe united in diversity, human dignity and equal rights, freedom of speech and democracy, peace and prosperity for all, shared values, open to the world. My key achievements: Completion of the PAPFE at the French MESRI. Design and set up of the COST Association, conclusion of the FPA and SGAs signed with the EC, of the finance contract signed with the EIB, transfer the “COST branch of Activity” from ESF to the COST Association. Previously, direct involvement in the conception and set-up of the ERC. Formerly, design and coordination the internal EU affaires network at CNRS and its representation, definition and set up of European project engineers. My skills and abilities- doing research and inspiring R&I policies- in depth knowledge of the European research landscape and RTD funding programmes- proven coordination skills, strong leadership capabilities, solid management experience, effective execution skills of a huge diversity of activities (S&T networks, R&D collaborations, IPR, HR and talent empowerment, events organiser and moderator.)- Member of working & advisory groups and executive boards (RFIEA, EASSH, USPC). Founder of \"Europe Matters\"- Fluent in French, German, Spanish, English. My research journey: Research at the University Paris ‘Pierre et Marie Curie’, Lainz Hospital in Vienna, Sandoz Inc. in Basel, Collège de France in Paris (cooperation with Rhone Poulenc Santé). Studied Biology, specialising in Neuroscience, at the Universities of Vienna, Austria, and Paris ‘Pierre et Marie Curie’, France, where PhDs acquired; published number of scientific papers.
