ABOUT MONICA CHAUDHRY
I primarily work on the evaluation of health interventions targeted to improve maternal and child health outcomes at various healthcare levels. My academic training has provided me with a solid foundation in basic sciences, clinical knowledge, research methodology, health policy, health infrastructure and programs, ethics, and biostatistics. My five-year journey at Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) has given me opportunities to lead teams under several projects and also collaborate with leading institutes in public health like London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), UK; Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH), Harvard University, US, and; Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University, US. This experience has helped me gain insights into the barriers and facilitators of implementing interventions for improved pregnancy outcomes in both private and public health sector, from the perspective of a scientist, an off-site coordinator, and a field worker. I’m also studying the impact of environmental factors on these outcomes with a Core Research Grant that I was awarded by SERB (Science and Engineering Research Board), Government of India. Additionally, I’m experienced in nutrition research, food environment, environmental exposures, and oral health.
