ABOUT MONICA CASTRO
I am a graduate of Lewis & Clark College with a B.A in Psychology. I am currently working at Tarzana Treatment Centers, non-profit that provides substance abuse and mental health treatment to adults and youth. I am the Program Coordinator for the SAMHSA MAT Prescription Drug and Opioid Addiction program. In this role, I provide leadership to the MAT-PDOA team by supporting initiatives around providing case management, education, and counseling support to Los Angeles County patients with a history of substance use. In addition, my team and I train community-based providers on Opioid Use Disorder, with hopes that we can support the growing needs within special populations including re-entry, people experiencing homelessness, and LGBTQ+.
