ABOUT MONICA BHARGAVA
I\'m a pulmonary/critical care physician interested in clinical practice, medical education, and the promotion of health equity. I work with patients at an urban safety net hospital (Level I Trauma Center) and am committed to the care of our most vulnerable populations. I’ve been fortunate to receive awards for dedicated patient care, humanism in medicine, teaching, and writing. My words have appeared in Salon, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The British Medical Journal, and The Washington Post. My colleagues and I were filmed for the documentary Extremis, a piece exploring the complexities of end-of-life care (streaming on Netflix). It was nominated for a 2017 Academy Award (Best Documentary - Short Subject) and was directed by Dan Krauss.
