ABOUT MONICA BARRETO

Monica Barreto, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist and the Clinical Director of Primary Care Integrated Behavioral Health at Nemours Children’s Health, Florida. She completed her doctoral training at Western Michigan University and her residency and fellowship training in pediatric psychology at the Yale Child Study Center, Yale University.Dr. Barreto specializes in advancing equitable mental health care for children and families, with a particular focus on underserved cultural and linguistic communities. She is recognized for her expertise in developing brief, evidence-based interventions within medical settings and for expanding innovative models of integrated primary care.In her clinical role, Dr. Barreto provides psychological assessment and intervention for pediatric patients navigating cognitive, behavioral, and emotional challenges related to chronic illness. She also supports children and adolescents in primary care settings, treating concerns such as anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, and sleep problems.Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Barreto is deeply engaged in the Central Florida community.
