About Mona West
My passion is enabling all people to have transformational experiences in the outdoors. I do this by building market-leading brands that enable consumers to hike farther, paddle longer, travel widely - and find inspiration, new skills, and community along the way. Brands like Thermarest, MSR, Platypus, Cairn, Heroclip, The Mountaineers, and The National Park Service.My secret sauce is a combination of deep business know-how gained from years leading consumer product and retail brands at Fortune 500 companies AND boots-on-the-ground experience with scrappy startups. My most recent work has centered on advising over 40 outdoor industry startups and growth-stage brands. I partner with investment groups, accelerator programs, and economic development offices to provide expert support to the startups in their ecosystems. I also work directly with a curated set of individual startups as a fractional CRO/CMO. I\'m an \'Integrator\' who is frequently paired with a \'Visionary\' Founder. I help them set the vision and strategy to grow market share and profitability, and guide their teams in the execution.
