About Mona Nag
As a visionary senior finance executive with 30+ years of experience at some of the largest multi-national Foreign and US Banks and Insurance companies, I am a trusted partner to senior management and board of directors with technical expertise in accounting principles, capital and regulatory compliance and financial reporting. Honored by Women We Admire as a Top 50 CAO of 2024, my passion lies in guiding companies through regulatory and economic uncertainty and the ever-changing financial landscape. As Deutsche Bank Americas Chief Accounting Officer, I was a key member of the executive team leading the strategic and cultural transformation from setting the tone at the top to strengthening internal controls and governance frameworks. I led high-performing and diverse global teams responsible for all aspects of financial accounting and transformation of data and processes, while working closely with the Board and the Audit committee and serving on high-level strategy teams. I led the controllership function and was responsible for overseeing the Bank’s accounting and regulatory policy frameworks, specialty accounting and reporting of complex financial products and delivering best-in-class audited financial statements for various regulated entities in an end-to-end controlled environment. As CFO of the FDIC regulated $40B Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas (DBTCA) during the US regional bank financial crisis of 2023, I successfully led the Bank through market volatility and enhanced regulatory supervision and crisis management practices. In charge of the Deutsche Bank Americas Annual Plan, I have deep expertise in budgeting, forecasting and analysis supportive of an effective strategy and risk management for the Bank.As a senior director at Morgan Stanley, I helped guide the firm through the 2008 financial crisis while transitioning to a bank holding company. Prior to Morgan Stanley, at Merrill Lynch I guided the Treasury division on hedge accounting strategies and valuation of investment portfolios. Earlier in my career, I spent almost a decade at TIAA-CFEF and Chubb Group of Insurance Companies gaining a strong understanding of statutory accounting and insurance specific accounting practices. I started my career in public accounting and am a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) and the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (CMA).
