Clients call me when they are looking to engage community dialog, inspire new ways of thinking, and communicate their educational vision to designers, educators and community.As an educational planner, facilitator, writer, researcher, speaker, and community member I work with schools and communities to create amazing school facilities.I am a Certified Planner – a designation awarded by the American Planning Association. Additionally, I am privileged to represent the Southwest Region as an International Board Member for the Association for Learning Environments.Our consulting firm, thinkSMART Planning Inc, is committed to the creation of learning environments that support the latest thinking in teaching and learning. The firm provides expert leadership in creating learning plans, educational specifications, master plans and strategic plans for educational facilities. thinkSMART, under the leadership of Ms. Smith, is the proud recipient of the 2008 James D MacConnell Award - the top international planning award bestowed by the Council of Facility Planners, Intl. for the planning of the Northwest Career and Technical Academy in Las Vegas NM. The firm is also proud to report that the V Sue Cleveland HS of Rio Rancho Public Schools was designated as a finalist for the 2011 award.A natural presenter, Molly has addressed numerous practitioner-based audiences at national educational conventions. Molly is the rare individual who can shift effortlessly between right and left-brain thinking – effectively connecting the abstract to the concrete. She is a natural extrovert with a passion for community involvement. Her skill as a facilitator allows her to generate discussion, separate extraneous information, and build upon collective input to create consensus. Specialties: Molly’s broad-ranging experience includes facility programming, district facilities master planning, space utilization analysis, budget and financial analysis, and site selections for over $1B of educational space.
