As a Legal Recruiter at Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), I support the organization’s mission to ensure every unaccompanied child has access to high-quality legal representation and compassionate advocacy. In this role, I lead full-cycle recruitment for legal positions across KIND’s field offices, helping to identify and attract diverse, mission-aligned legal professionals who bring both technical expertise and deep commitment to immigrant and refugee justice.Drawing on more than a decade of experience in unaccompanied children’s services, child protection, and humanitarian response, I approach recruitment as a form of advocacy that builds the human infrastructure needed to sustain equitable, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive legal systems. My work emphasizes collaborative hiring practices, values-driven candidate engagement, and partnership with leaders across KIND to strengthen teams that serve children navigating the U.S. immigration system.
