About Molly Brown

As I round out my first year of higher education, I have done an extreme amount of reflection on my purpose. Why am I here? What can I do to better the world? In a particularly special class that I took through my Honors College community, I have developed a purpose statement: improve the lives of those in need by addressing and repairing their dignity through the law and politics. But it goes so much deeper than that.I want to improve the lives of those in need by addressing and repairing their dignity through political action and law. Specifically, I want to practice human rights law, and establish unalienable rights for every single human being on this planet. No matter who you are, no matter what you believe, you deserve dignity. This fundamental belief is shaped by all of my prior experiences, and it continues to be shaped by every person I come into contact with.My strengths that will help me achieve my purpose are ones that I have worked to develop throughout my entire life. I have an extreme empathy for others. I have been blessed with a very fruitful and comfortable life, but I feel extremely deeply for others who have not been as fortunate. This allows me to continue developing my outlook and to become a more effective problem-solver.
