Every discipline in E&P — geology, drilling, completions, production, reservoir engineering, land, finance — generates critical data. The problem is it almost never connects.A geologist picks a landing zone without easy access to offset completions performance in that interval. A completions engineer designs a frac without a real-time tie-back to production response across the basin. A production engineer troubleshoots a well without seeing how its financial performance compares to the type curve. A reserves engineer reconciles ownership interests manually because six systems disagree on the same well.Every one of those gaps costs money. Most data architects have never estimated a reserve, designed a frac, or optimized a lift system. Most engineers have never built an enterprise data platform. I’ve done both.
