ABOUT MOJTABA AKBARI
In my current role with the Track Assessment team at Tetra Tech Canada, I am actively contributing to the implementation of a real-time image processing and computer vision algorithm within the construction industry. My primary responsibilities involve facilitating real-time branding information extraction for Canadian Railways through automation and Optical Character Recognition (OCR). Working collaboratively within a team, I am deeply engaged in the ongoing project, implementing this real-time vision algorithm using both Python and C++.Before joining Tetra Tech, I completed my MSc at the esteemed University of Alberta, immersing myself in technology\'s core, specializing in machine learning, robotics, and their practical applications. Simultaneously, I hold another Master\'s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a specific focus on computer vision. During my tenure as a machine learning intern with Amii\'s Advanced Tech team, I collaborated with industry leaders, contributing to cutting-edge research. A noteworthy project with Silvacom involved leveraging computer vision techniques for hyperspectral image analysis, showcasing my proficiency in deep neural networks, image processing, and Python programming. My research at the University of Alberta further honed my skills in guiding AI-powered robots using integrated computer vision and deep learning techniques, particularly in uncertain scenarios. Combining this academic rigour with hands-on experience, I\'ve cultivated expertise in machine learning and robotics, driven by a fervent commitment to developing algorithms with real-world impact. Challenges invigorate me; I approach them with precision and an unwavering commitment to achieving impactful results. This unique blend positions me as a valuable asset to any team, and I am eager to explore further opportunities for collaboration.
