About Moises Mendoza
I was born and raised in Houston, TX and a proud first-generation college graduate, holding both a B.S.Ed and M.Ed from the University of Virginia. I\'m the child of two hard working and resilient Mexican immigrant parents who although knew that getting a high level education could change our lives forever, didn\'t really know how to make that dream happen. Once in college, being a Latino, first-generation, low-income student while struggling with a mental illness made Higher Education an extremely difficult experience, BUT it was that same challenging roadmap that made me passionate about pushing for more equitable and inclusive spaces EVERYWHERE. I\'ve had the privilege of working in both K-12 and Higher Education sectors and findings ways of improving the academic experience as well as overall systems, programs, and resources available to students - especially those from marginalized communities. As a Growth Development Analyst with Veris Insights I\'m able to pair my lived, academic, and professional experiences/skills to support organizations with how they approach recruitment, talent management, and investing in their own people. I believe that fostering environments where people feel represented and valued should be a priority of all organizations and am grateful to have the opportunity of uplifting this type of work through research and data!
