Led design and delivery of following programmes and projects: • A situational study and analysis for British Council and Ministry of Culture UAE aimed at establishing a baseline for culture-based climate action within the UAE cultural sector • Build a campaign and research piece for British Council to build on climate and education work to date, especially the calls of the Global Youth Rising. Undertake deep-dive, participatory research to build global knowledge on the emerging skills and knowledge gaps in green economies, and the skills and knowledge needed by youth to access the emerging green opportunities such as employment, entrepreneurship and community action globally and in five programme countries (Brazil, Mexico, Vietnam, Indonesia and India) • Led a regional perception study capturing climate change perspectives of youth across five South Asian countries in the lead-up to COP26. Synthesised findings into the Global Youth Letter on Climate Action. • Engaged over 75 national youth councils and CSOs to co-develop youth climate priorities.• Delivered policy briefings to UK FCDO and South Asia regional envoys, influencing engagement strategy at COP26.• Co-developed an online platform that received over interactions globally and amplified youth messaging during the climate negotiations.• Pakistan Youth Leadership Programme: Delivered leadership curricula that equipped youth with climate advocacy and policy engagement skills. By building capacity in sustainability planning, we empowered participants to take proactive roles in community-based climate projects.

ABOUT MOHSEN GUL

Dr. Mohsen Gul is a sustainability leader and systems curator, dedicated to building inclusive economies and advancing climate action through sustainable finance and innovation. As Senior Researcher at the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), he leads policy research and advocacy at the climate–nature–people nexus, shaping frameworks that connect global ambition with local realities. With extensive experience across multilateral organisations, research institutions, and international platforms, Dr. Gul has consistently championed sustainable finance, social inclusion, and systems innovation. At the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), he led research on international financial architecture for climate and nature investments, and at UNDP Asia–Pacific he steered regional policy on just transition, entrepreneurial ecosystems, and green jobs. A recognised expert on climate and nature finance, AI and climate tech, and systems policy innovation, his work has influenced both global negotiations and local practice. Most recently, he earned the Google Generative AI Leader Specialisation, further strengthening his ability to explore how AI can be responsibly applied to climate, development, and inclusion. A LinkedIn Top Voice and UK Creator Award recipient, Dr. Gul leverages systems thinking, collaborative intelligence, and emerging technologies to catalyse transformative change for people and planet.
