About Mohan Karki

I am a professional engineer and project manager with over 15 years of combined experiences in design build projects from Middle East, Canada and United States in the field of drainage infrastructure, municipal transportation, and geotechnical engineering. Projects included Light Rail Transit, Municipal Roadways and Trenchless Installation and Rehabilitation of sewer lines with Microtunneling and Sliplining methods. Engineering experiences involved constructability review, design-build, design optimization, and value engineering. Project management experiences involved pre-construction planning, development of project management plans, contract negotiation, change management, and management of engineering consultants, clients, sub-contractors and other project stakeholders for microtunneling, deep shaft construction, manhole and sewer rehabilitation, open trench construction, municipal roadways, and Light Rail Transit (LRT) construction. I believe teamwork, open communication, and collaboration play an important role for individual and project success. I am continually improving self and helping others to succeed by mentoring junior colleagues. During course of my career, I have successfully collaborated with multi-disciplinary teams of internal and external stakeholders during various stages of project management processes. As every project environment is unique and as part of my commitment to continuous improvement, I stay updated on the latest construction trends and technologies to ensure I bring innovative ideas, solutions, and best practices to unique projects. I am interested in adopting and integrating innovative technologies for the improvement of work processes and productivities, and excited to continue applying my expertise to new challenges and opportunities. I have completed Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University with formal courses on Urban Mechanzed Tunneling, Deep Excavation Support System, and Pavement. I am a registered member of The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) since 2015 and Project Management Institute since 2020.
