Currently part of the Senior Management Team at HMP & YOI Isis. Managing and leading a large team of diverse and Multi-faith chaplains in His majesty’s Young Offenders Institute. Isis is a resettlement and training Prison with a focus on reducing re-offending of young men within the age range of 18-27 years old. Instrumental in shaping the Strategic vision of the prison. I deliver pastoral care to all staff and prisoners. Funerals, Death in Custody, marriages etc. lead on restorative justice reforms. Facilitation of faith activities and faith based care. A UK qualified Muslim theologian and motivational public speaker. Vast experience in bereavement care, counselling and mental health.The former Managing Chaplain at His Majesty’s Prison Brixton. I managed a large complex diverse team of over 100 members of staff, consisting of employed, sessional and volunteer staff. I oversaw and managed the department budget and represented my department at Senior management level. Worked in a very intense and pressured environment I oversaw the staff care and well-being strategy. I was also Staff Care Team Leader for over 400 members of staff of all grades. I have worked with over 50 TACT offenders some of which are very high profile. I Specialise in Islamic theology, I hold vast experience in high risk mentoring and de-radicalisation. Delivered workshops on Islam and Race Equality to the Senior Civil Service & Home Office. Planned Prepared and taught interactive courses to the Security Services in conjunction with ACPOTAM.Senior visiting Imam and lecturer at Edmonton Islamic Centre (North London)As a public speaker I have worked with charities assisting in fundraising appeals nationally. This includes TV appeals, stage fundraising as well emotional and inspirational speeches. These charities include Islamic Relief, Orphans in Need and Muslim Aid among others. I have Created and delivered Chaplaincy Training on Christian and Muslim interfaith perspectives, mental health, CBT & spirituality.I hold advanced DBS and CTC clearance.
