ABOUT TALHA AHMED

In my current role as a Graduate Consultant, I have gained an extensive amount of experience in a relatively short period of time. This is due to being given a considerable amount of responsibility quite early on in my role. From a technical aspect, I have successfully completed the Finite Element Analyses of various Prestressed Concrete Pressure Vessels around the UK, using DIANA FEA software, then presenting the results in detailed reports. On top of this, I have carried out more conventional designs adopting European and British Standard\'s. From a business and management aspect, I prepare bids, contracts and monthly cost reports for each task that I work on. In addition to this, I create project programmes and fortnightly progress reports for certain tasks.From a communication and client relations perspective, I chair regular meetings with clients to discuss progress on projects and ensure that projects are running smoothly. I have ran two workshops with clients, which involved presentations from myself, followed by useful discussions with client stakeholders. Finally, I recently organised a presentation at The University of Manchester, where I invited two other graduate engineers who work in different roles. We presented the topic \"Life as a Graduate Engineer \" and the aim of this was to give current students an insight into our experiences within our companies and different roles as graduate engineers.
