Mohammed Sorathia is an accomplished finance executive with over 20 years of cross-industry experience spanning energy, oil & gas, manufacturing, airlines, and healthcare. A published co-author and a former adjunct faculty member, Mohammed brings a passion for mentorship, strategic thinking, and sustainable growth qualities that continue to define his career at the forefront of energy transition and corporate finance. He currently serves as Senior Director of Finance at MHI Hydrogen Infrastructure, LLC, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Power Americas, where he leads financial strategy, governance, and capital structuring for one of the most innovative clean energy infrastructure platforms in the U.S.Mohammed has a proven track record of establishing and scaling finance functions, securing project financing, and driving commercial strategy. He played a pivotal role in the ACES Delta Project, a $400M hydrogen storage initiative, successfully supporting joint venture negotiations and helping secure a $504.4M loan from the U.S. Department of Energy. His efforts have contributed to over $1 billion in sales and $600M+ in equipment and working capital financing.Prior to his current role, Mohammed held senior finance leadership positions at Baker Hughes (a GE company) and GE Power, where he led large teams, designed global FP & A processes, and developed financing programs tailored to customer needs. He is known for his strategic mindset, ability to bridge technical complexity with business value, and a collaborative approach to change management.Mohammed holds an MBA from the University at Buffalo (SUNY), is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and serves as an elected Board Director for a Municipal Utility District managing over $1 billion in assets.
