Experience

  1. Graduate Research Assistant

    Kent State University

    Jan 2023 — Present · OH, US

My research is focused on environmental remote sensing for terrestrial applications. I work on the Herbert W. Hoover-funded carbon project of detecting changes in soil organic carbon, using remote sensing. I operate the FieldSpec4 spectroradiometer to collect surface reflectance data on soil and other land cover types in field sites located in Canton, Ohio. I construct machine-learning models and develop Python codes that process field data, drone data, and sentinel 2 satellite data. I apply statistical and advanced data techniques including the varimax-rotated principal component analysis, that process the spectral signatures. I am processing data obtained from the test flight of an E38 unmanned aircraft, by using the Agisoft Metaphase software to do photo alignment, reflectance calibration, digital elevation model processing, 3D Ortho mosaic generation, and indices calculations.
