We work on the specific gene expressions in people with HIV and neurocognitive disorders in order to understand the underlying mechanisms and interplay of biological, psychosocial, and structural factors contributing to mood disorders in people with HIV, which might be advantageous and would result in the development of more specific drugs for treating depression and neurocognitive disorders in people with HIV.
