Experience

  1. Doctor of Medicine Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Trauma Surgery

    UPMC

    Sep 2022 — Present

As a Trauma researcher, my focus is on evaluating the effects of varying wavelengths of light on acute coagulopathy and inflammation following trauma. Specifically, I am investigating the light-dependent platelet function and immune cell recruitment after traumatic injury. Additionally, I plan to study the presence of platelet-derived microthrombosis in tissues as an indicator of end-organ damage.I am also exploring the impact of specific circadian regulatory proteins regulated by red-light exposure. As part of my responsibilities, I design and implement experiments, collect and analyze data, and present our findings at conferences. We aim to deepen our understanding of how prophylactic light therapy can improve patient outcomes following traumatic injuries. By staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the field, collaborating with other researchers, and presenting our findings, we aim to make a meaningful contribution to the scientific community.
