ABOUT MOHAMMADALI REZAZADEH
I am assistant professor of Structural Engineering at the Northumbria University. I have been recently successful in attraction of funding for an R&D project (StreColesf: Innovative technique using effectively composite materials for the strengthening of rectangular cross section reinforced concrete columns exposed to seismic loadings and fire) with a total budget of €” at the University of Minho, Portugal. I am also a member of several scientific committees (e.g. RILEM (FTC: Durability and Service Life of Concrete), fib (TG5.1-FRP Reinforcement for concrete structures), Civil Engineering Heritage and Future). My research expertise and interests are:• Innovative solutions using prestressing system for strengthening of existing concrete structures exposed to fire;• Development of new type construction materials: Eco-friendly fibre reinforced concrete, fibre reinforced polymers, cement-based adhesive;• Long-term and durability performances of construction materials;• Sustainability and innovation in FRP/concrete composite structures;• High-cycle fatigue behaviour of concrete deck of bridges;• Experimental testing in Civil Engineering Laboratory;• Multi-scale computational modelling using finite element (FE) software (i.e. ABAQUS with more than 10 years experience);• Innovative integrated Machine Learning/FE modelling to overcome the limitations of traditional FE modelling;• As Structural/Earthquake Engineer: design and construction of new structures (including the buildings of a steel plant and several residential complexes) using design software’s ETABS, SAFE, and TEKLA structures, and seismic evaluation and strengthening of several concrete and masonry structures.
