ABOUT MOHAMMAD HAMDAN
I am a PhD researcher and Studio Tutor at the University of Nottingham, specializing in sustainable urban design, building retrofitting, energy simulation, and urban microclimate analysis. My work focuses on integrating life cycle assessment (LCA), climate responsive architecture, and neighbourhood-scale retrofitting strategies to achieve net-zero goals in the built environment. With over 10 years of academic and professional experience, I have contributed to major urban redevelopment projects, interdisciplinary research initiatives, and sustainable planning practices.I have a strong background in teaching and mentoring, delivering undergraduate and postgraduate studio modules, and leading workshops on sustainable design, BIM (Revit Architecture), and environmental simulation tools. I am an Associate Fellow (AFHEA) recognized by Advance HE and actively review for Advances in Building Energy Research (Taylor & Francis Group). My interests lie at the intersection of academic research and practical application, developing climate resilient strategies, energy efficient urban solutions, and cross-sector collaborations. I am passionate about contributing to future research projects, fellowships, and academic or industry partnerships related to climate adaptation and sustainable design.
