Mohammad Saleem Naiknavar is a qualified plant breeder with an experience of 9 years in line and hybrid development of different crops like Cotton, Sunflower (Ornamental), Watermelon, Muskmelon, Ridge Gourd, Sponge Gourd and Bottle Gourd.He has developed and commercially released successful hybrids of Bt Cotton for various cotton growing regions of India. Has standardized male sterility system in ornamental helianthus for developing pollen free hybrids.Now he us involved in breeding of Cucurbit crops and has introduced new pipeline products of watermelon and Muskmelon which are to be introduced soon.He has deployed various plant breeding techniques with required modifications in addition to the right utility of molecular tools and shuttle breeding techniques that have resulted in identifying stable lines and commercially competitive hybrids in shortest possible time.As a member of IBSC member he has handled regulatory affairs that are required from transformation of a line to final release of a transgenic hybrid.Has experience in quality stock seed maintenance and guiding quality hybrid seed production of various crops.
