ABOUT MOHAMMAD RAOUF HOSSEINI
Currently, I am employed by Coventry University to work on a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project focused on transferring bioleaching technology to Cellcycle Ltd.(part of SE Recycling Ltd.). This initiative aims at recovering critical minerals from end-of-life lithium-ion batteries.Previously, I spent more than 10 years as an assistant/associate professor in the Mining Engineering Department at Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), where I led the Mineral Processing Group and supervised a team of experts and graduate students.During my time there, my team and I carried out laboratory, pilot, and industrial-scale projects in mineral processing and hydrometallurgy, particularly in the bio-treatment of low-grade resources, wastes, and wastewater. We also worked on the bio-synthesis of nanoparticles for applications such as photocatalysis, semiconducting, and magnetism. My research interests and expertise include bio-leaching, bio-flotation, bio-flocculation, leaching, adsorption, solvent extraction, precipitation, and related areas. I have published widely in these fields and have received several awards and grants for my work.Beyond research, I have always been committed to teaching and mentoring future minerals engineers and researchers. My teaching portfolio has included courses such as Bio-treatment of Minerals, Advanced Mineral Processing, Material Recycling, Electrochemistry in Mineral Processing, and Advanced Flotation.
