As Acting Chair of Sustainability West Midlands (SWM), I lead the board on developing and maintaining collective strategic oversight and governance of SWM as a regional sustainability champion and national lead on sustainability consulting services. SWM works with 200+ members across business, government, health, and education to accelerate progress towards net zero by 2030 for the West Midlands and support the UK’s wider 2050 net zero target.In this role, I:Deliver board leadership in shaping strategy and ensuring effective governance.Encourage board members to provide oversight and challenge to the executive team as they deliver sustainability consultancy and advisory services nationwide.Champion innovation and climate resilience, bringing expertise in AI, clean energy, and international trade to strengthen board decision-making.Promote cross-sector collaboration, engaging stakeholders to influence policy and investment around energy transition, biodiversity, and sustainable growth.Through my board contribution, I help ensure SWM remains a trusted convener that drives measurable impact, enabling organisations to embed sustainability, adapt to climate change, and achieve their net zero ambitions.
