Currently I am an Assistant Chief in the Houston Fire Department (HFD). In this role I am responsible for overseeing various operational, administrative, and strategic functions within the department. I play a critical role in shaping departmental policies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving initiatives that enhance public safety and firefighter efficiency. Previously, I was a District Chief. As a District Chief in the Houston Fire Department, my role was pivotal in overseeing and managing firefighting operations within a designated district as well as the City of Houston. My responsibilities included leading and coordinating emergency response efforts, supervising and mentoring firefighting personnel, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and departmental policies, evaluating and implementing strategic plans for incident management, and coordinating with other emergency response agencies for effective collaboration during emergencies. I was also involved in training, resource allocation, and fostering community relations to ensure the safety and well-being of both my fire stations and the residents of Houston.I have also held previous assignments in cadet instruction, professional development, inspection/code compliance (Fire Marshal’s Office), as an EMS supervisior, as the Chief of Special Projects, and in the emergency mitigation of declared disasters and high profile events.
