GENERAL SUMMARY/BASIC PURPOSE OF JOB:The infection Control Practitioner, under the clinical direction of the Infection Prevention and Control andChair of the Infection Control Committee, participates in the planning, directing, implementing and evaluatingthe System-wide Infection Control program. This individual will be involved in the education of patients,healthcare providers, consultation to leadership across the Sinai system. Additionally, will be involved inmonitoring of healthcare practices which place patients and healthcare providers at risk, surveillance ofhealthcare associated infections through chart abstraction, application of standardized criteria and datasubmission and will communicate findings to healthcare providers/Sinai leadership. The Infection ControlPractitioner is an active participant in regulatory-related activities including accreditation and licensingactivities across the System.
