Senior Qa Automation Engineer @BCAA

Burnaby, BC, CA

I build and manage the test automation framework for our Salesforce implementations, primarily focusing on Service Cloud and Field Service Lightning projects. My main responsibility is creating reliable automation coverage across UI and API layers. I\'ve set up CI/CD pipelines that run automated tests on every deployment, which has significantly reduced the time we spend on manual regression testing. I use tools like Salesforce Inspector, SOQL, Workbench, and Postman daily for testing, debugging, and data validation.MuleSoft integration testing is another key area. I validate integration flows, analyze logs in CloudHub, and ensure our APIs are working correctly. When integration issues come up, I\'m usually the one digging through logs and tracing data flows to find the root cause.Test planning is part of my workflow. I create detailed test plans for new features, estimate testing effort for sprint planning, and work with the team to identify risks early. Having a solid plan makes execution much smoother and helps us avoid surprises.I collaborate with different teams throughout the development cycle. I partner with developers to understand what\'s changing and where bugs might hide, work with architects to understand system design and integration points, coordinate with business analysts on requirements, and validate with business stakeholders that we\'re building the right thing.I also mentor a junior QA engineer on our team. I\'ve helped them ramp up on our automation framework, taught them Salesforce testing techniques, and guided them through complex test scenarios. Watching them take on more challenging work independently has been incredibly satisfying.Recently, I\'ve been focused on Field Service Lightning automation – testing service appointment scheduling, work order automation, facility call workflows, and bypass mechanisms. The complexity of these features makes the testing work interesting and keeps me learning.
