MCNA is a non-profit organization dedicated to building and strengthening Muslim communities in WA State. Founded by Mohamed Bakr, MCNA has achieved a remarkable track record of success in community building, education, and advocacy.MCNA has organized numerous initiatives, including the Eastside Muslim and Immigrant Safety Forum, which invited six Eastside police chiefs to speak about different topics each year to around 400 local residents. These events received high praise from community members and leaders alike and were covered by local news stations like King5 and Komo News.MCNA played a crucial role in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, mobilizing the Muslim community in WA through more than 50 vaccine clinics customized culturally to the Muslim community. These clinics served thousands of community members. MCNA distributed more than COVID-19 testing kits, face masks, hand sanitizers, and prayer mats to more than 40 different Islamic centers in WA State. In addition, MCNA created the popular Omar and Hana Vaccine videos in English and Arabic and the Reopening the Mosques guidelines with King County Public Health, which have reached over 1 million views worldwide.MCNA founded the Muslim Parent Group to empower Muslim parents with knowledge about the school system and with Tarteel School founded in 2018, the Eid Festivals at the Woodland Park Zoo, Seattle Aquarium, Pacific Science Center, and Seattle Children\'s Museum, a unique program in the US that invites around Muslims in WA State to celebrate Eid, providing access to families who may not be able to afford it otherwise.MCNA has mobilized the Muslim community, providing access to resources and empowering individuals with knowledge of system and policy changes. Their dedication and inspiring leadership have created a safer and healthier environment for thousands of community members, making them a transformative force in the field of community building and advocacy.
