ABOUT MOHAMED RABIE

Mr Rabie is a consultant colorectal and general surgeon with a special interest in minimally invasive surgery. He completed his surgical training in the East of England deanery. He was privileged to undertake advanced fellowship training in minimally invasive and robotic techniques, including the RCSEng MiMICC (St Mark’s, London) and RCSEng Robotic Fellowship (Portsmouth). He holds a PhD in colorectal surgery and is a graduate of the King’s College Leadership and Management Fellowship and the Chief Resident Program. Currently working as a consultant surgeon at University Hospital Southampton, Mohamed is the department lead for clinical effectiveness, driving the development of guidelines and strategic innovation across general surgical services. He is also the regional respresntative for the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (ASGBI) and a member of the Asoociation of Coloproctolist of Great Britain and Irelad (ACPGBI) Education and Training committee. A passionate surgical educator, Mohamed has structured modular training programs, several simulation-based workshops, and mentorship schemes that empower the next generation of surgeons. His academic portfolio includes over 50 peer-reviewed publications, a book chapter, and international presentations.Mohamed’s leadership has been recognized through roles such as Dukes’ Club President, STEER Vice-Chair, and he was awarded the ACPGBI Trainee Coloproctologist of the Year in recognition of his achievements in surgical leadership, education, and research.
