At Dovetail, I have full ownership of the EE department as its own business unit within the group. This involves:*Technical Leadership - meet directly with clients as a technical advisor to understand their engineering and business challenges and turn their needs into well-defined, solvable engineering projects.*Engineering Excellence - own system and electrical designs across all product development stages - concept to production - across industries spanning industrial, medical, consumer, aerospace - and electrical stages like power electronics, embedded systems, sensing, motor control.*Project Ownership - oversee the planning and execution of projects, planning out development stages, proving out prototype concepts, getting into the details in preparing for manufacturing builds.*Mentorship & Team Building - constantly assess team needs, identify passionate engineers who can augment the group capabilities, help foster growth and a sense of open communication, excellence, and warmth.Technical Skills & Experience:*PCB Design & Layout – Proficiency with Altium for schematic capture and board layout. Circuit Simulation & Analysis – Experience with tools like LTSpice, PSpice, or other circuit simulators.*Board Bring-Up & Debugging – Experience with hands-on board bring-up, troubleshooting, and embedded system debugging.*Firmware & Embedded Systems – Familiarity with microcontrollers, embedded C, and peripheral integration.*Regulatory & Compliance – Knowledge of designing to meet standards like FCC, UL, CE, IEC 60601, and other industry-specific regulations.*EMI/EMC Considerations – Experience designing to meet EMI/EMC standards and troubleshooting compliance issues.*Power Electronics & Signal Integrity – Understanding of power supply design, high-speed signal integrity, and grounding best practices.
