ABOUT MOANA NEWMAN
I have led nonprofit development programs for more than 25 years, working with mission-driven organizations that support healthy, resilient, and empowered children, youth, and families. Before joining Albertina Kerr in 2025, I served as Director of Advancement with Caldera Arts, helping strengthen community-centered programming that uplifts young people and their families. A significant foundation of my work comes from my time with wellness-focused social service organizations such as Family Support Services and Family Paths. There, I supported programs designed to reduce the impacts of generational poverty, food and housing insecurity, and systemic racism. My efforts helped advance resources for parents and caregivers of medically fragile children, families navigating major transitions, and kin-families: grandparents or other relatives stepping in to raise children within their extended family networks. My service as Director of Development for Crowden Music Center further deepened my understanding of how arts, education, and community engagement intersect to nurture young people.I believe strongly in the power of one-to-one connection to build inclusive, thriving communities. In every role, my aim is to help create environments that cultivate strength, belonging, and joy in the lives of children, youth, and families.
