ABOUT MARYELLEN NOVAK
With more than 12 years of experience in communications, marketing, and outreach, I am a strategic communicator with a passion for creating positive social impact. I have a master\'s degree in negotiation and conflict resolution, and I have applied my skills and knowledge to diverse projects and initiatives across various sectors and industries. Most recently, I was the Communications Manager at African Services Committee, where I led a strategic focus group project to enhance the organization\'s service delivery and cultural competence. I also designed and directed all the marketing and outreach materials for the 2023 annual report and gala. Previously, I held various roles at Columbia University, where I managed non-degree programs, supported instructional design, and coordinated enrollment and advertising. I am also an active volunteer and organizer for several causes, such as climate justice, immigrant rights, and LGBTQIA+ advocacy. I am looking for new opportunities to leverage my vision, creativity, and innovation to advance social change and strategic communication goals.
