ABOUT MIKE NORRIS
Began in Flat Panel Display Capital Equipment (SiO2/TiO2/SnO2 deposition systems). Moved into Biological/Life Sciences Lab equipment (Fluourescence Plate reader) at a small startup (never amounted to much). Then Affymetrix which involved everything from packaging equipment to Fluidics Stations and went with the Perlegen Sciences spin off and was been the mechanical engineer there since inception. Next, Antara and Siometrix, and from there, consulting work at Illumina and elsewhere. I\'d like to be a fantastic mechanical design engineer. I\'d like to earn the respect of my peers. I feel I\'m achieving these goals, but there is always opportunity to improve and grow. Specialties: Mechanical Design Engineer - processes include machining, sheetmetal, vacuum forming, injection molding, sand casting, silicone molding. Integration of purchased systems (pumps, valves, etc) Small volume fluidics (100 ul - 10\'s ml)
