ABOUT MARTA MARIA SESANA
Marta Maria Sesana is Associate Professor at the University of Brescia, Department of Civil, Environmental, Architectural Engineering and Mathematics (DICATAM) in Building Architecture Engineering and vice-coordinator of the faculty board of the Ph.D. Programme Civil, Environmental Engineering, International Cooperation and Mathematics (DICACIM) of University of Brescia.She is author of various peer-reviewed publications and a member of different editorial boards of scientific journals. She has high experience in both management and scientific research projects, in particular on EU programme, gathered during her PostDoc at Politecnico di Milano.She is the deputy director of the Building Energy Efficiency Lab, a young group of Building Architectural Engineers who collaborate and conduct applied research and monitoring campaigns on building envelope performances at BEEpilot, an experimental Open Innovation Test Bed, designed by the scientific director Prof. G. Salvalai of Politecnico di Milano.She is member for University of Brescia of the working group on “Green Building” of the Cleantech – Lombardy Energy Cluster.She is member of the IALCEE (International Association for Life Cycle Civil Engineering), which aims to promote international cooperation in the field of life-cycle civil engineering for the purpose of enhancing the welfare of society.She is member of different technical committees such as: CEN/TC 350 - Sustainability of construction works WG17, TC14 – Sustainability & Eco-Efficiency of Steel Construction, CEN/TC 135/WG 17 - Product category rules complementary to EN 15804 for Steel and Aluminium structural products for use in construction works.From 2022 she is the scientific responsible for the Sustainability Commission of Fondazione Promozione Acciaio, a cultural non-profit entity that promotes the development of steel construction and infrastructure in Italy.She actively participates also to the Cost Action CA 21103 Circular B project that aims to develop a common international framework of a circularity assessment tool with key performance indicators (KPIs) based on current EC construction best practices. Specifically, for Circularity strategies and best practices (WG1) and Circular KPIs framework (WG3).
